Dota 2 Releases Letter Patch 7.35d Instead of Speculated Crownfall Update

On 22nd March 2024, Valve dropped the fourth letter patch update 7.35d which introduced some changes and balances. It came out just a day later many in the community were speculating that the highly anticipated Crownfall Update might release.

21st March 2024 was significant to the Dota 2 community as it happened to be World Puppetry Day and the community was rife with rumors that the Crownfall Update and a new hero The Ringmaster would be released on this date.

Dota 2 Patch 7.35d: Complete Details

The 7.35d patch, despite being a letter patch, has introduced some new features, made some changes to heroes, items, and the game to balance the scales. However, Valve did announce that the Crownfall update was in its final stages of development and is expected to be released sometime around the middle of April.

This update features the standard , but this is not the prime topic of today. Today, we’re focusing on the features of the game that were reworked and some new features introduced with this patch.

Firstly, Valve noticed a pattern while investigating players who used cheats for the first 10 seconds of the game during which the ban phase takes place.

Valve discovered that players were using cheats to completely lock out certain opponents with small hero pools, rendering them unable to play their heroes in almost every game.

To tackle this, Valve reworked the 10-second hero ban and has made it so that every player can choose up to four heroes they do not want to play against before the game.

One of the four heroes selected by them is guaranteed to get banned every single game while ensuring that targeting bans against anyone using cheats is now impossible.

Secondly, Valve also introduced Dota Plus Pre-Match Matchmaker Analytics.

In short, this experimental feature currently limited to Dota Plus users would allow a player to view details of the pub game they are about to enter.

The available Information would include details of things like ping, skill variance, and behavior score, thank god!

So now subscribed players can analyze the information of the pub before entering and accept it or choose to queue again without any penalty if the information is not in favor.

Lastly, Valve topped it off with a small message that read, “We know many of you are looking forward to Crownfall, and we’re looking forward to getting it into your hands. We’re wrapping things up and expect to release in mid-April. We’ll see you then.”

So now the community is hopeful again while still being bitter, looking forward to next month when the Crownfall Update is expected to release, maybe along with a new hero as well.
